Who am I?

Well, I am a combination of different things..... a fitness enthusiast, mother of twins, wife, judoka, business owner, sports therapist, therapy tutor, saxophone player, charity fundraiser, OTT organiser and a positive beam of light. I love to share my passion of life, knowledge and work with all I connect with.

I grew up in Newcastle and was there until I moved out at age 17, fiercely independent and certain I was ready to tackle the world without my Mam crushing me with rules! I quickly found out that it's harder looking after yourself than it looks. Pride still intact, I persevered on studying at college for my sports science diploma and then later completing my BSc sports therapy. Because I was living in a flat in Gateshead, keeping it running and paying bills, I started working in therapy as soon as I could.

As soon as I had my sports massage qualification, back in 2008, I started massaging anyone who would let me to gain much needed experience, but also making a bit of cash. This brought on my palpatory skills and this skill must be refined to make a great hands on therapist. Feel what the tissue is telling you!

I love to keep fit and started my working career at age 16 in fitness clubs completing fitness qualifications to take gym inductions, write personalised fitness programmes and eventually take group fitness classes. Fitness is a big part of my life - it makes me happy, keeps me healthy and is a vent to balance my mental health. The last 4 years has seen the introduction of Judo and this additional challenge is one I embrace each week.

I am an avid fundraiser for Cancer research UK and fundraise all year round to get funds to the research centres in the hope of developing more efficient treatments and detection protocols. Every year, I do a 24hr event called Relay for Life with a great group of people.

I have ran my own business in some form since 2009 starting in a hairdresser's back room, to working in my own clinic with staff. I now do what I love on the road taking treatments to those who can't access a clinic for one reason or another - I love this form of my business the most! I meet some amazing individuals and feel humbled to be able to help them live a comfortable life. I have taught since 2020 sharing my skills with therapists who want to help their client base more than they can right now. Your journey of learning never stops, even mine so embrace it and enjoy it.

I am more than just a manual therapy tutor and all of these aspects of my life make me the person I am today. I am a better therapist and better tutor for it so that I can provide the best service to you when you train with me. We are more than just therapists and you must bring your whole self to work making your services as personal as you are.
